Ye Old Sun Inn's Local Suppliers

Here at the Sun we are very passionate about using fresh food and commodities where possible, that are local and at their best when in season. Buying direct from the farmer helps keep handling to a minimum and enable us to highlight the local produce available on our door step.  Quality and consistency is paramount to enabling us to produce dishes of good taste, texture and flavour for you to enjoy.
We have spent many hours building up a network of local producers who share the same passion and consistency helping to put this part of North Yorkshire on the map with our very own ‘Food Hero’s’.

This is just a small selection taken from our suppliers list that we use on our monthly changing menus, of course we try to maintain a healthy supply of home grown herbs and vegetables from the poly tunnel and garden when the season dictates (and the weather!), as well as our own smoked products from the smoker.
When you're visiting the pub why not ask if you can have a wander around the polytunnel and gardens to see and smell for yourself the fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables that we have growing over the summer and winter months.

"A dedication to good local ingredients is reflected in the menu- rabbit from Ledston Estate finds itself in a pie with thyme, ginger and wild mushrooms
